Amazons Rules

The rules of Amazons are very simple. Each player controls four queens. Queens can move just like chess queens -- any horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line. The two players alternate moves where a move consists of moving one queen and then shooting an arrow from that queen. An arrow also moves like a queen. When it stops, it puts up a wall. Queens and arrows cannot pass through walls, so they create an immovable barrier for the rest of the game.

The game is won by the last player who is able to complete a move. Since each move adds a wall to the board, eventually one player will run out of moves -- all of their queens will be completely surrounded by walls. If the winner has 7 moves left when the loser runs out, the winner is said to have won with a score of 7 points. Points can be used to break ties in matches and tournaments.
